Start-ups on the rise….Development becomes a certainty @ the UAE

During the recent innovation week, it was found out that the nation is gaining momentum in becoming a fast growing entrepreneurial hub for SMEs. An event that became a fine exemplification of the implementation of the UAE’s Year of Innovation best practices and the reputation that has been gained in the process.

Important aspects that came to my attention:

• The Catalyst — a $5 million (Dh18 million) start-up accelerator focused on sustainability and clean tech.

• The UAE is investing USD 18 billion to transform the nation into a knowledge-based economy.

• The UAE is firmly treading on the path to becoming one of the top 20 countries in its Golden Jubilee year- 2021.
